401(k)-Retirement

The 401(k)-retirement plan helps you to save money for your future. Ethos matches up to 6% of employee contribution. In 2024, you contribute up to $23,000 to your 401(k) account. If you are age 50 or older, you may contribute an additional “catch-up” contribution of $7,500.
Paid Time Off

Ethos provides PTO and a Holiday Schedule equal to 12 holidays.
Medical

Ethos partners with BlueCross BlueShield of Texas to offer four medical plan options, two PPO plans and two High Deductible Health Plans (HDHP). In-network preventive care is covered at 100% in all four plans. With the PPO plans, you will pay copays at the time of service when received in-network. With the HDHP plans, you will need to satisfy your deductible before the plan begins to share the cost.
Dental

Our dental program is offered through BlueCross BlueShield of Texas. There are two plan offerings, the low plan, and the high plan. Both plans offer in and out-of-network coverage, but the best discounts on your services are received in-network. The low plan has a $50 deductible for individuals and a $150 deductible for families with a $1,000 annual maximum benefit, while the high plan has a $25 deductible for individuals and a $75 deductible for families with a $3,000 annual maximum benefit. Orthodontia is covered under the high plan.
Vision

Our vision coverage is provided by BlueCross BlueShield of Texas. Our plan offers both in and out-of-network coverage, but you will receive the best coverage level and discounts when you receive care in-network. If you receive vision care out-of-network, you are only eligible to receive a limited reimbursement. You will pay a $10 copay for exams and $25 copay for lenses with an in-network provider. There is a $130 allowance for frames and contacts.
Value Added Benefits

If you enroll in one of the medical plans, you are eligible to participate in the value-added benefits from BlueCross BlueShield of Texas. This includes virtual checkups, behavioral health & resources for your mental health well-being, Blue 365, ComPsych employee assistance program, Member Rewards, Well onTarget tobacco cessation program, Special Beginnings program and 24/7 Nurseline.
Life and AD&D

Ethos provides, at no cost to you, Basic Life and AD&D insurance through BlueCross BlueShield of Texas. Your coverage is equal to $50,000. You have the option to purchase Voluntary Life and AD&D insurance for yourself and your family members at competitive group rates.
Short Term Disability

Ethos provides, at no cost to you, Short Term Disability (STD) insurance through BlueCross BlueShield of Texas to help provide financial security if you become disabled due to a non-work-related illness or accident. The plan covers 60% of your pre-disability earnings up to $2,500 per week, for up to 13 weeks.
Long Term Disability

Ethos provides, at no cost to you, Long Term Disability (LTD) insurance through BlueCross BlueShield of Texas to help provide you financial assistance in the event you are unable to work due to a non-work-related illness or accident for an extended period of time. The plan covers 60% of your pre-disability earnings up to $15,000 monthly. Rates are based upon your age.
Flexible Spending Account (FSA)

Ethos offers Healthcare and Dependent Care FSA through Navia Benefits. These accounts allow you to set aside pre-tax dollars from your paycheck to pay for qualified medical, dental, vision, or dependent care expenses. The 2024 Healthcare FSA maximum contribution is $3,200 and the Dependent Care FSA maximum contribution is $5,000 (or $2,500 if married and filing separately).
Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

Ethos provides a confidential employee assistance program through Personal Assistance Service (PAS) which provides short term counseling, referral and follow-up services for employees and family members. Clinicians are available 24/7 by phone and the program includes up to six face-to-face counseling sessions per year.
Health Savings Account (HSA)

Employees who enroll in one of the HDHP plans will need to open an HSA account. HSA dollars can be used to pay for qualified medical expenses, such as deductibles, copays, dental, and vision care. We partner with Optum Bank for our HSA program. In 2024, you can contribute up to $4,150 for employee only and up to $8,300 for employee + dependent. If you are age 55 or older, you can contribute an additional $1,000 as a “catch-up” contribution. For 2024, Ethos will contribute to your HSA account (for the HDHP 3200/6400 plan - $750 individual/$1,500 family and for the HDHP 4000/8000 plan - $1,000 individual/$2,000 family). Contributions will be prorated and deposited into your account bi-weekly.
Voluntary Benefits

Accident, Hospital Indemnity and Critical Illness coverage can supplement your medical plan and provide you and your family with the additional financial protection you may need. These plans pay benefits directly to you and you decide how to use the benefit. These voluntary plans are offered through Mutual of Omaha at competitive group rates.
Pet Insurance

Pets can be unpredictable; pet insurance is the smart way to protect your pet’s health and your pocketbook. As an employee of Ethos, we will be providing information on Pet Insurance benefits.

From the first truckload of food we delivered to the latest batch cooked in our Pet Nutrition plant here in Brownwood, Texas, our story is one we’re proud of. Natural Balance has a 30-year history of developing premium products with high-quality, protein-forward ingredients spanning dog food, cat food, and treats. For the past 25 years, Ethos Pet Brands has offered dog and cat food products focusing on goodness for pets and the planet through regenerative agriculture and sustainable operations.

We’ve been upholding that quality in Brownwood since 2012 and we’re proud that our premium kibble is produced here in the great state of Texas. Our commitment to best-in-class offerings inspires everything we do, from the land we harvest and the farmers we work with, to the people we employ and the local businesses we partner with.

We have donated over 800,000 pounds of food to the San Antonio food bank, providing much-needed support for pets and their parents.

Adopt-A-Highway

We’re keeping Texas clean as part of Adopt-A-Highway, a litter prevention effort founded right here in our home-state.
